Bowser and Deep Bay are part of Lighthouse Country, a rural seaside region along the Island Highway from Qualicum Beach to Fanny Bay. This peaceful area with a population of approximately 1,900 people is famous for its endless pebble beaches, fresh shellfish, vibrant arts scene, and proximity to outdoor adventures. In the 1930s, Bowser was also put on the map (and included in Ripley’s Believe It Or Not) for Mike, a bartending dog who served beer and collected payment at Bowser Hotel!
